Adult Content…
I know that I don’t post adult content on this blog and I have been clear about monitoring the comments added to my images.
But Tumblr is probably one of the few places where people of different genders culture and sexuality freely share their past, present and future life…
There is a problem with the posting of Child Pornography on this platform and we all have people who follow us that cross the line.
Adults can give consent …. children can not… it’s a simple as that
Posting images of sexual abuse of any person is wrong…
As a community of bloggers perhaps we have ignored and accepted this as just being one of those things on Tumblr..
But the banning of all Adult content on this platform is a stupid and alarming act…
Instead of spending money and resources tracking down and taking out offending images and blogs like other platforms. Tumblr has decided to go the easy and most offensive route..
In doing so it is punishing the various groups who find freedom and a space to be themselves instead of the individuals who break the rules.
I have logged a complaint with Tumblr about this move.
I know that some of us live in countries where the ability to be ourselves in real life is hard and for some impossible. Tumblr can be a lifeline to sanity and hope…
Let’s be honest this mess started with Apple pulling the plug on the App…
How much more of our freedom will corporations own in the future…
Tumblrs response is a big mistake ….
And yes the new algorithms are flagging lots of my post as explicit….. even ones where the guys are fully dressed.. I even had a photo of an Ancient Greek statue flagged…..
